Excerpt from the product description by Beans Connected: The beans of coffee trees grown using natural farming methods in the Ywangan region of Myanmar, which is spread across an altitude of 1,190m to 1,805m, are used for Amaya Coffee, a specialty coffee produced by the Danu ethnic minority group, which has been certified as a specialty coffee, accounting for only 5% of the world's coffee beans, under the slogan "escape from poverty" and "improving women's independence and status." Women carefully select the raw materials by hand, then refine and dry them in the sun.
The beans, filled with the feelings of the Danu people, are purchased directly from the producers through fair trade, and are roasted and processed by users of Stride Club, a facility in Shibuya Ward that provides continued employment support for people with disabilities.
